Ventilation funding support – Scotland Only
The Scottish Government has launched its £25m Business Ventilation Fund this week to support businesses who need to improve their ventilation systems in response to the pandemic. Businesses can claim up to £2,500 for each of their premises. Businesses and charities are able to apply, but ALEOs cannot. It is open until March 2022, or until funds are exhausted.

The business will need to be classed as a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Business. Businesses that operate from single or multiple premises with an overall rateable value footprint more than £500,000 are not eligible to claim support through this funding.

You can find out more information on the Scottish Government’s website here.

Tube Strike – London Only
At the time of sending this email, industrial action is planned by the RMT union on the Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines all day on Friday 26 November. If it goes ahead, it will mean a severely disrupted service on the affected lines. It is also likely to mean much busier services on the Tube lines that are not affected. The strikes could also disrupt the reintroduction of Night Tube services on the Central and Victoria lines. In addition, a strike is planned for Saturday evening into Sunday morning on the Central and Victoria lines. Please advise both your cast and audiences to allow more time to travel.

10 Principles poster now available in Welsh
The 10 Principles for Safe and Inclusive Workspaces is a code of conduct designed to address bullying, harassment and discrimination in the theatre industry. We are pleased to say that the free downloadable A3 poster of the 10 Principles is now available in Welsh as well as English. We encourage all members to adopt the principles, and to print and display the poster in your offices, rehearsal rooms and backstage areas. Both versions of the poster and the full set of principles are available to view here.

Reminder: Greening Theatre Event – Thursday 2 December 2021 from 1–5 pm at Bristol Old Vic
Theatre-makers and producers in the South West and Wales are invited to come together at Bristol Old Vic for an in person event to explore how we can reduce our environmental impact in response to the climate crisis. Attendance is free but booking essential as places are limited.

This regional launch of the Theatre Green Book will discuss how the theatre sector collaborated to create this important new resource and how it can help us all work more sustainably. There will be a panel on Production Processes & Materials and one on Buildings, Operations & Touring.

The event also features a problem-solving “Green Theatre Question Time” session. Attendees will be able to share their current challenges so that solutions and suggestions can be crowdsourced from sustainable theatre experts and other participants.

A limited number of travel bursaries will be available for freelance practitioners and small-scale theatre companies located in Devon and Cornwall. These can be applied for upon booking.

For more information and to register, please visit the website.
