Update to Performing Arts quarantine exemption

The Government announced on Friday the suspension of Travel Corridors and tightened the list of quarantine exemptions for at least one month from 4am this morning (Monday 18 January) to prevent and suppress the spread of concerning new variants of coronavirus into the UK. The list of the suspended exemptions is available here and includes performing arts professionals.

All international arrivals who departed from or transited through any country outside the Common Travel Area in the previous 10 days will be required to both take a pre-departure test, and self-isolate immediately for 10 days on arrival.

The new measures will be reviewed on Monday 15 February – while further work takes place to manage the threat posed by coronavirus variants. For further information, please see the official GOV.UK page here.

Performing Arts In Politics – A Look Ahead

This is the first week of our ‘Performing Arts In Politics’ update.

To view it members just need to log on to the Advocacy Page on the relevant website (SOLT & UK Theatre) where you’ll find the paper. It includes a selection of upcoming parliamentary / assembly business from across the UK, focussing on items relevant to the theatre and performing arts sector.

The purpose of these weekly updates is so that members have a better overview of the parliamentary schedules, so that you have as much time as possible to contact your politicians and provide them with any information you think they might find useful on the subject on which they are planned to speak / debate.

Please do let us know if you have any questions or any suggestions on what might be useful to include in this weekly paper. Please also email us if you need any help on contacting your politicians.

Chelsea & Westminster and West Middlesex Hospitals

Chelsea & Westminster and West Middlesex Hospitals are asking local celebrities and friends of the hospital if they would consider sending a video message of support that they can share with their NHS staff and on their social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram), thanking the staff for all they’re doing at this trying time. If possible, the videos should be under 1 minute, landscape, and acknowledge Chelsea & Westminster and West Middlesex Hospitals. Please send your videos to christina.peumalu@cwplus.org.uk.
