Face Coverings
As agreed by both the SOLT and UK Theatre boards, we have issued the following statement on face coverings.

Self-isolation rules have changed – All members
In light of the latest government regulations requiring travellers from 30 November to self-isolate until a negative Day 2 PCR test is received it has been confirmed that the Performing Arts Quarantine Exemption (PAQE) will currently continue to apply. The PAQE currently applies to England and Scotland only. You can find out more information about PAQE here.

From 30 November, unless you have obtained the PAQE as detailed above, international arrivals from non-red list countries who are fully vaccinated will need to isolate at home and take a PCR test on or before day 2 following your arrival. You are only permitted to leave isolation if this test result is negative. If your test result is positive, you will need to isolate for 10 days. This is the same across the UK.

Business rates – England only
Following on from the announcements which were made about business rates at the Autumn Budget and Spending Review in October the UK Government is now consulting on some of the proposed changes. Key things which may be of interest are improvement relief which “will enable businesses to adapt to meet rising demand and make improvements to their premises” and measures to support decarbonisation and the introduction of green technology.

You can find the consultation here. If you have any thoughts on the proposals which you would like us to submit to the Government on your behalf please contact our Public Affairs Manager, Christopher Walker, at christopher@soltukt.co.uk

Business rates – Northern Ireland only
A reminder to all members in Northern Ireland that you must return your Reval2023 questionnaire to Land and Property Services by 31 December. LPS will use rental evidence and other supporting information to prepare a new valuation list, based on October 2021 rental values.  This new list will then be used to calculate rates bills from 1st April 2023. You can submit your form online and find out more information here
